Project Coordinator - 2 Positions - Cote d'Ivoire and Togo

Type of employment Contract: CDD, One (01) year renewable

Bilingual (English and French; proficiency in other local languages is a definite asset).

Responsibilities:

1) Project implementation and administration

Under the supervision of the Country Representative and the Program Manager, and in close collaboration with the teams specialized in radio, digital innovations and knowledge management, the incumbent will be responsible for the implementation of project activities based on organizational approaches and to the highest standards and satisfaction of all stakeholders, including farmers, donors, partner radio stations, agricultural extension services, health services and partners projects. More specifically, she / he will have to:

§ Contribute to the development and revision of the Project Implementation Plans (PIP) and the launch of their activities;

§ Develop , revise and execute monthly, quarterly and annual project activity work plans in accordance with validation procedures and models established by FRI, including initiation, implementation, monitoring, adaptation, evaluation and preparation of reports;

§ Ensure adherence to FRI policies and procedures, including risk assessment, expense variance, documentation, archiving, etc.;

§ Prepare and revise various basic documents for the execution of project activities, including terms of reference and activity execution reports;

§ Support the development of project expenditure plans and the monitoring of their execution in accordance with the established planning;

§ Contribute and support the development and implementation of radio program plans as well as audience interaction plans, including the organization of workshops to identify key themes and messages and training workshops;

§ Mobilize the contribution of the project's knowledge partners in the production and broadcasting of quality programs;

§ Ensure the achievement of results related to gender equality and produce the necessary progress reports;

§ Promote the participation of women / girls in project activities, particularly in decision-making, throughout the duration of the project cycle; and

§ Collaborate with women's organizations with a view to promoting women's rights.

2) Program development (PD)

Under the supervision of the Country Representative and the Senior Program Development Manager, the person sought will contribute to the development of the programs in the country. More precisely, he/she should:

§ Identify funding opportunities for new projects or programs as well as new strategic partners in the country;

§ Support the development of concept notes or new proposals for submission to development partners and donors in the country;

§ Strengthen and maintain good partnership and collaborative relationships between the organization and partners (current or future) and the successful implementation of project activities, participation in strategic meetings and produce visibility documents on the project and its results.

3. National monitoring, evaluation, learning and knowledge management

§ Contribute to the design of survey tools and other evaluation instruments.

§ Analyze data generated by surveys, interviews, qualitative assessments, listeners' responses to on-air / online surveys.

§ Write baseline studies, mid-term evaluations and final evaluation reports.

§ Write project briefs highlighting project results, learnings and implications in terms of best practices.

§ Organize or contribute to the experience of capitalization processes with partners and project stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience and Requirements

§ University diploma or certificate (3+ years minimum) in international project development/management, agriculture, sociology, economics, population sciences, law, communication, or equivalent. A Masters degree would be an asset.

§ Five (5) years of experience in project or program management, in particular in communication projects in behavioural changes and development.

§ Very good knowledge of gender issues, empowerment of women and girls, preferably in the agriculture and food security sector.

§ Experience in surveys and field studies.

§ Bilingual (English and French). Very good written and oral communication skills in both languages. Ability to speak other local languages is a definite asset.

§ Able and willing to travel within the country.

§ Good skills in the use of electronic communication tools, in particular the MS Office and Google suites of products, Skype, etc.

Knowledge

§ Significant knowledge of the principles of gender equality and women's rights and experience in integrating these principles into the project cycle.

§ Knowledge of broadcasting and ICT or communication for behavior change.

§ Knowledge of agricultural and health practices in Africa.

§ Knowledge of the requirements of development partners and national or international donors and strategic or implementation partners in Africa.

Skills and attributes

§ Good skills in design, capitalization, data interpretation and writing.

§ Excellent intercultural communication skills.

§ Good organizational and planning skills.

Other

§ Experience working with international NGOs.

§ Knowledge of Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy.
